Butt Exercises

By Jayna Davis

What is the purpose of a butt exercise? Why do we need to perform those exercises? To simply answer the questions: we want to have a properly-shaped and toned butt.

Admittedly, a bigger butt can make us look more sexy. It also makes whatever attire you wear to an occasion always the best fit dress if your butt is round and toned. A round and toned butt can also lessen the impact of your fall if you landed on it and wouldn't make you hurt that much. How's that for protection?

Can we attain or maintain a properly toned and rounded butt? Yes, definitely - through exercise. We'll discuss these exercises one by one and you can try any or a combination of them.

Running and Walking

The simplest and easiest exercises for your butt are walking and running. They are mostly part of our daily activities. Let's take up walking first. Do brisk walks regularly to burn more calories. With regular brisk walks, you will tone your legs, thighs and, definitely, your butt.

It's the same way with running. It will just double the speed of the whole process. Another good thing about these great exercises is that they are also good for your heart and lungs.

Squats

One of the best and most famous exercises is the squat exercise. There are a lot of variations to the squat but the basic is done by simply sitting on the air with your feet spread a little farther apart. With this position, your knees and thighs are somewhat pressured and your butt muscles will stretch and contract.

This great exercise should be done for a few sets and add intensity to it as you go on. Using some weight could also make it more effective.

One-Legged Dead Lifts

As the name implies, you put all your weight on only one of your legs. While your body is being supported by one leg, you put the other leg behind the leg that supports your body. Then, bend your body putting all your weight to the supporting thigh. This exercise is a little difficult and may take some practice to master.

One-legged dead lifts are good for your butt, legs and the rest of your lower body. However, never do this exercise if you have a back injury or any similar injury so as not to worsen your condition.

Step-Ups

Do the step-up by placing one of your feet onto a step or platform then pushing your body down toward the step with the knees of the other leg bent to a 90-degree angle or less. Apply your weight to the stepping leg for best results. Prior to doing the exercise, make sure that the platform or step is secure to prevent accident. Step-up is like repeatedly stepping on one of the steps of a stairway.

Lunges

If you are not used to lunges, it is a bit tiring type of exercise. This is a workout that is also done by basketball players. It is good for the butt, knees and lower body. You may use dumbbells to intensify the workout making it more challenging.

This is one of the most common butt exercises and it's very easy but I suggest that if you have knee or back problems, never try it unless you have a clearance from your doctor.

With dumbbells on both hands, you do this by stepping one foot forward while you let your back foot rest on its toes. Keep your back straight and try to lower the knee of your back foot as much as you can. Keep the kneecap of the front foot at a 90-degree angle. Stay on this position for a few seconds, then reverse your feet position and do the steps. Repeat the steps as much as you can for better, faster results.

Although there are other exercise, these are the most common and effective butt exercises. You are right to have observed that when you work out your knee, thighs and feet, you get your butt worked out as well.

Without the proper diet, discipline and dedication, butt exercise may not work effectively as expected. If you desire to look sexier, consistently do these butt exercises to make your butt bigger and more toned.

The Scientific Power of Prayer

By Deborah Lindholm

The mind body connection is full of powerful and amazing implications. Dr. Herbert Benson who founded the BHI, Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine is a professor at Harvard Medical School. The institute is a part of Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Benson believes physical health is highly influenced by behaviors, feelings and thoughts, as well as these same behaviors, feelings and thoughts being influenced by physical symptoms. Another of life's amazing cycles revealed.

What remains unknown is how thoughts, beliefs, and feelings assume their role in the development of disease, as well as recovery from disease. We are already aware how some people can change their thoughts through prayer, resulting in seemingly miraculous events. An example would be a total reversal of some terminal condition. We still need to figure out just how thoughts and beliefs manage to affect our body in this way. We are aware that mind and body are in constant communication. What is thought, perceived and experienced is sent from mind to body consistently.

For centuries people have been influencing there health, as well as the health of others through prayer. This mind body approach towards medicine works at teaching patients to change their thought patterns, reduce stress and changing their behaviors to remove any negativity, all while embracing their beliefs to better control and prevail over any illness.

All religions, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, or Christian, believe in prayer for healing. Healing rooms, prayer groups and even online prayer groups can be found all across America and the world. According to an article published in the Washington Post, "Surveys have found that perhaps half of Americans regularly pray for their own health, and at least a quarter have others pray for them."

However the religious are not the only proponents of prayer for altering health. Quantum physics cites a phenomenon whereby distant particles affect other's behavior in mysterious ways - thus having other people pray for you conceivably sends energy to you that can and does affect your health.

Additional to quantum physics citations there have been an abundance of studies conducted over the years, finding strong links between health and prayers. Although the reasons remain unclear at this time, many theories are continually being tested.

Researchers found in the results of one study, conducted with 990 cardiac patients at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo, how prayer improved health based on a combined score of various measures which were created by researchers for the particular study in question.

In an interview conducted by Heritage.org with Dr. Harold G. Koenig, a tenured associate professor of psychiatry at Duke University, an associate professor of medicine, the director and founder of the Center for the Study of Religion/Spirituality and Health at Duke University, several smaller studies were cited. "(In these studies)You find a connection between religious involvement and immune and endocrine function; in five of seven studies, the religious experience lower mortality from cancer; in 14 of 23, they have significantly lower blood pressure; in 11 of 14, they have lower mortality; and in 12 of 13, clergy mortality is lower."

Without a doubt, prayer has a significant effect on both health and mortality. Scientists are better equipped to define parameters and control groups, as they continue these studies we'll continue to gain additional insight on the inner workings of this indisputable connection. Until this point is reached, it's powerful to understand our thoughts and beliefs having such a direct effect on our health and mortality, as well as that of others.

How to Use Covert Hypnosis While Speaking With Someone

By Rob Andrews

Have you ever met somebody who seemed to be able to convince anybody to do anything, just by talking to them. You know, like the salesman who can sell ice to Eskimos?

Ever wonder how some people can do it, and others cant?

Well, one way that you can really influence other people by talking to them is by using conversational hypnosis.

What is conversational hypnosis?

Putting people in deep trances like a psycho-hypnotist would do in this office is not what conversational hypnosis is about.

What it is about is using language that by-passes someone's conscious brain and makes suggestions directly to the subconscious mind. Using the words of the conversation to directly communicate with the subconscious mind of the listener is conversational hypnosis.

Robert Dilts is an expert in this field. He refers to this type of language as sleight of mouth. He explains that language provides a map of our world and each person lives in her own world (pretty deep stuff, huh?).

What he means is that every person sees the world in a different way, and they use language to both talk about their world (describe it), and to actually create their world.

So basically, what Dilts is saying is that when you talk about something in a certain way, you actually begin to think about that thing in that way. For example, if you are always saying things like, I hate school then you will hate school. You are actually making yourself hate school by saying you hate school.

How is this related to conversational hypnosis?

Just like you can make yourself hate school, you can also make other people hate school by constantly talking to them about how much you hate school.

This gives the expression attitudes are contagious a whole new meaning. You see, not only do someone's words influence their mind to create a new reality, they influence others in the same way.

Remember how your parents used to freak out if they thought you had the wrong friends? Well, there maybe something to that. If you hang around friends who think a certain way, the words they use will carry those attitudes like a virus into your subconscious and literally start infecting you to think the same way. For good or for bad.

You see how powerful your words are? One reason they are so strong is the subconscious brain absorbs them like a sponge.

Your subconscious brain is very aware of what goes on around you. In fact, most of your thinking happens there. The subconscious mind can be influenced by what you and others say.

Using the right words can affect the way people see the world. What are the right words? Ahhhh, that's the question. But you'll need to wait until the next part of this article to find out. Or of course, you can visit my blog.
